Our clients came to us with their engineered drawings after they had worked with their building designer to create their dream home design.  Their home is positioned on an elevated block in Edge Hill and sits amongst the trees, enjoying views over Cairns city and beyond. 

The design is a single level home perched on top of a system of steel beams and supports that form the foundation for the building.  It was our clients’ vision to build a home that took advantage of the views and breezes and was modern and distinctive in design.  It needed to be compact and upmarket but also feel like a home. 

Our clients wanted their home building journey be a positive experience and as stress-free as possible and despite the impending wet season, they were keen to start construction as soon as possible as they were living in rented accommodation. 

The construction of the home utilises a combination of construction methods from slab on ground with block walls to metal framing with colorbond metal cladding.   This project was challenging for our team but we enjoyed the complexity of the project and the satisfaction that came from overcoming the challenges throughout the build. 

Throughout construction we had weekly meetings with our clients on site to keep them informed of progress and to discuss any issues that required our clients’ input.  Our clients were very happy with the final outcome and are now enjoying their beautiful home.
