As a Koru Building Contractors’ display home, our vision was to deliver a home that worked with the surrounding environment and also showcased a style of building that was contemporary and a contrast to the Queenslander-style of home that we have become reknowned for.

It was an opportunity to experiment with products not often used in residential building in Far North Queensland, like OFC (off-form concrete) and modern metal cladding systems.

Our brief included such things as a connection between the outdoors and indoors, curved walls, a round pool, OFC walls, a self-contained studio with external access for multi‑generational living or income-generation, high ceilings, rooftop planter boxes and low‑maintenance exterior finishes.

OMBRA features 3 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, media room, living/dining room, dry bar, kitchen, butler’s pantry, al fresco kitchen, patio, Plungie pool, office and laundry.

OMBRA’s studio features a bedroom, dining, kitchenette, laundry, ensuite and outdoor courtyard.
